“Makes the case for understanding and empathy toward those struggling with Alzheimer's." – Alzheimer's Los Angeles
MOTHER'S DAY MEMORIES is the story of a woman whose struggle with Alzheimer's is compounded by conflict between her husband and son over how best to love and care for her.
The story is based on Bill Hoversten's own mother's struggle with Alzheimer's. His screenplay for this short film was initially in development meetings at Hallmark. Eventually Bill decided to produce the film himself.
With an experienced and very talented cast and crew, principal photography began in Highland Park, Los Angeles on Sep. 19, 2018. The following day Britain's Daily Mail newspaper published a list of the "50 Coolest Neighbourhoods in the World," naming Highland Park #9. Apparently word had traveled fast!
"It may not seem like I love you, but I do."
"It would mean the world to me to have you back normal again."
"Sometimes prayer is all we have."
"If I ever forget who you are, will you still love me?"
